![]() ![]() It will indicate clearly in the product description if a different return policy applies. There are few non-returnable products & services that may be offered on our website. Products must be in original packaging and in a new and resalable condition.Īny product that was used or fully/partially installed is non-returnable.Īll returns must be made via our Return Procedure by filling out an RMA form in the MY ACCOUNT section. For orders placed during the holiday season from November 15th to December 31st, the return period is extended to 60 days. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return the item within 30 days of delivery of your order. Return for any reason if you're not satisfied as long as you didn't open the package or install the bulb. It's a $199 experiment and worth a gamble given how pathetic the stock reflector bulb is. I froze the video and it looks like the Ram cap is the same cap that is on the Pacifica. The problem with the reflector is the metal mushroom cap over the bulb. Here's a partial list of cars with LED headlights.ġ0 Cars with LED Lights that Outshine the Competition My S60 also has sh!itty brown reflector halogens. ![]() My S60 leas was so good and I got 9K off a '17 Touring Pacifica so it's kinda hard to demand HIDs when one is compromising to get a great deal. Even for me, the lack of HID/LED have not been deal breakers as I anticipated and their marketing knows this fact. After first experiencing HIDs in my 2002 X5, I stated that I will never own a car without HIDs. Why offer it if it won't be a deal breaker. There is no reason for FCA not to put LEDs or HIDs on the hybrid other than saving money by figuring anyone wanting a hybrid, will get it even without modern tech headlights. OTS is not even a consideration.Īudi and Toyota have had LED headlights for several years and both Audi and BMW have been approved for laser (light amplification stimulated emitted radiation) lights. If a bulb goes out (or there is a wreck), the entire headlight assembly is replaced. Now, why in the world they didn't put the HIDs in the Hybrid Limited is something I still don't understand.Ĭlick to expand. My '13 Accord (5 years old) has factory Honda LED projector head lights. ![]() So, ignoring the better light output, the electrical savings just isn't as big as I thought it might be at this point in LED history. It would save 1 mile of driving range over 5.5 hours of operation vs the stock halogens. If it were available in a 9005 and worked well in the halogen projector (which it wouldn't), that would be a more meaningful 90W difference, but that still doesn't add up to much. The Philips Xtreme Vision LED draws 9.8W (but doesn't fit the Hybrid). In terms of all-electric driving range, that means the stock lamps would eat about 1 mile worth of driving every 10 hours as compared to the GTRs. That's about half the stock power draw, and combined savings of only a mere 54W. Headlight Revolution's favorite 9005 replacement by GTR Lighting draws 2.1 amps at 14v, or 28.2W. Again, this has a lot to do with the fact that they are retrofits that have tradeoffs built in (much of it around cooling and beam-forming). So, FCA is butting up against limited OTS options and regulations.Īlso, many of the OTS options don't really save meaningful electricity over Halogens in terms of depleted all-electric driving range, and definitely don't compete strongly against HIDs. Apparently some high-end German cars now have LEDs in custom projector housings, but they haven't been cleared for sale in the US yet. The FCA engineers would want a spot-on (pun intended) solution that was not a retrofit, but a native LED design. The existing OTS options are for replacing halogens in reflector housings, and as the videos linked below demonstrate, results are all over the map with matching the beam pattern. They would have to make an expensive, one-off solution that would be really expensive to replace (granted, if well made they would last the life of the vehicle). The commercially-available, off-the-shelf (OTS) technology really isn't there yet. ![]() I did more research on this topic than I expected to, and I think I better understand Chrysler's decision to not put LED headlights in the hybrids. ![]()
